Terms of service

What you can expect from StoxDeck, and what it expects from you. Written to be read, not to be impressive.

Who you are agreeing with

StoxDeck is operated by Beka Tomashvili (trading as StoxDeck). Throughout this document “we” and “us” mean that operator, and “you” means the person using the service. By creating an account you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, do not create an account.

What StoxDeck does

StoxDeck is a stock portfolio tracker. You enter the transactions you have made, and it calculates your cost basis on a first-in, first-out basis, your realized and unrealized profit and loss, and the current market value of what you hold using delayed or live market prices from a third-party data provider.

It covers US-listed stocks and ETFs. It does not connect to your brokerage, does not place trades, does not move money, and never asks for brokerage or bank credentials. Every holding in your account is there because you typed it in.

This is not financial advice

Nothing in StoxDeck is investment, tax, or financial advice, and nothing in it is a recommendation to buy or sell anything. It performs arithmetic on the numbers you supply and shows you the result.

Cost basis and realized gain figures are calculated first-in, first-out. That may not be the method you or your tax authority use, and the figures depend entirely on the accuracy and completeness of what you entered. Do not file a tax return based on StoxDeck’s output without checking it against your broker’s own records and, where it matters, with a tax professional. We are not responsible for the consequences of relying on a figure that was calculated from incomplete or incorrect input.

Market data

Prices come from a third-party market data provider. They may be delayed, may occasionally be unavailable, and may be wrong. They are provided for informational purposes only, are not guaranteed to be accurate or timely, and must not be relied on for trading decisions. Where a price cannot be retrieved, StoxDeck shows that a price is missing rather than guessing one.

Your account

You need a valid email address to register, and you must confirm it before the account becomes usable. You are responsible for keeping your password private and for everything done through your account. Tell us promptly if you believe someone else has access to it.

One person, one account. Do not share an account, and do not attempt to access anyone else’s.

Plans and pricing

The free plan tracks up to 15 distinct holdings and is not time-limited. There is no trial to expire. Pro costs $49 per year, billed annually, and lifts the holdings limit. Prices in other currencies are shown at checkout and may differ from a straight conversion.

Reaching the free plan’s limit never removes access to what you have already entered. Existing positions stay visible and priced, you can still add to them, sell them, and edit their history — the limit only stops you adding a further distinct symbol.

If we change the price, subscriptions already active keep the price they were bought at for as long as they remain active.

Billing, renewal and cancellation

Payments are processed by Paddle, which acts as the merchant of record for every sale. Your contract for the purchase is with Paddle, their terms apply to the transaction, and they handle payment, invoicing, and any VAT or sales tax due where you live. We never see or store your card details.

A Pro subscription renews automatically each year until it is cancelled. You can cancel at any time from your account page, which opens Paddle’s billing portal. Cancelling stops the next renewal; it does not end the period you have already paid for, and Pro stays active until that period ends. After it ends the account returns to the free plan, with all your data intact.

Refunds are covered by our refund policy.

Your data belongs to you

The transactions and holdings you enter are yours. We do not sell them, and we do not use them to build a profile of you or to trade on. What we collect and why is set out in the privacy policy.

You can delete your account at any time from your profile page, which removes your account, its transaction history and its sessions. Records of payments are kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires, which is the one category of data deletion does not cover.

Acceptable use

Do not use StoxDeck to:

  • break the law, or help anyone else break it
  • scrape, resell, or redistribute the market data shown in the product
  • attack, overload, probe or reverse-engineer the service, or attempt to reach data belonging to another account
  • automate access in a way that degrades the service for others

We may suspend or close an account that does any of these, and will refund the unused portion of a paid year if we do so for a reason that was not your fault.

Availability

StoxDeck is provided as-is. We aim to keep it running and correct, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we may change or withdraw features. If we discontinue the service entirely, we will give reasonable notice, provide a way to export your data, and refund the unused portion of any subscription.

Limits of liability

To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for any claim relating to StoxDeck is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose. We are not liable for lost profits, lost opportunities, investment losses, or tax penalties arising from your use of the service.

Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, and nothing here affects the statutory rights you have as a consumer where you live.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change materially affects your rights, we will email account holders before it takes effect. Continuing to use StoxDeck after that point means you accept the updated terms. The date at the top of this page always reflects the current version.
